In Dangerous Girl, she wishes to live a life full of danger, despite being “America’s sweetheart”. This song conveys a very mid American image in which Lana has men falling all over her. She’s reckless and spontaneous and has many interactions with men. The Siren is a girl who is living in a small town, but has a larger than life personality and an even larger libido. This image, which I have dubbed “the Siren” is present in a few of Lana’s tracks. In Driving In Cars With Boys, Lana describes herself as a “siren with a sad song”, which helped me realised another persona of the singer. This image was initially interesting but grew old fast, and I’m glad it was phased out as it would’ve painted Lana as a one trick pony of sorts. They also feature the sultry tone and murmuring about violence, money and alcohol. Towards the end of 2011, songs like Hundred Dollar Bill and You Can Be The Boss had leaked.
